Since its inception in 1989, the Sikh Study Circle of Dallas-Fort Worth has been one of the most important centers of Sikh life in the southwestern U.S. Due to the efforts of countless dedicated members of the Dallas-Fort Worth community, Sikh Study Circle has been a beehive of diverse spiritual activities.
Dr Harbans Singh Saron mentioned the importance of the Sikh value of "commitment to service" that goes beyond serving food. He said: "As we ring in the new year with Vaisakhi, there could not be a better way than to join our brethren at the Glide Church with the message of hope and love".
Each time she visits the intensive care unit, she said, she recalls the day her grandfather walked out the door to join his friend Singh for their afternoon stroll. "I wish I had the ability to press a button and go back to that day and just tell my grandpa to stay home," she said, her eyes filled with tears.

The Sikh community led effort culminated on April 2, 1947 in all South Asians attaining the right to vote. And we feel it is definitely a day worth celebrating especially since we are now amidst a federal election where the much contest right to vote can be put into practice. In an event highlighting the influence and permanence of the Bay Area's Indian community, Gov. Jerry Brown and other political leaders joined thousands of colorfully dressed Sikhs who last Sunday celebrated the opening of their greatly expanded temple in the Evergreen hills of San Jose, making it the nation's largest gurdwara.
The Sacramento Sikh Temple opened its door to the local media Sunday afternoon for a tour of the temple in an effort to build better education and awareness.
