Jun 29, 2011: William Osler Health System Foundation has appointed Kulvir Singh Gill as its new board chair.
Gill, who heads an independent management consulting practice and is involved with various non-profit organizations, was named to the post during the foundation’s 2011 Annual General Meeting held Tuesday at Brampton Civic Hospital.
In his new role, Gill’s key responsibilities will be to serve as one of Osler Foundation’s spokespersons and lead the strategic direction of fundraising for William Osler Health System. He will collaborate with Fab Corazzola, who was appointed foundation board vice chair Tuesday.
“Kulvir has proven himself in many ways as a dedicated supporter of Osler’s Etobicoke General, Brampton Civic and Peel Memorial, and his strong links within the community make him the perfect person to serve in this capacity,” said Heather Picken, Gill’s predecessor as board chair.
At the close of the AGM, Heather Picken was honoured for her active and loyal service on the Osler Foundation Board as chair for the past three years. Her passion and dedication to health care and to Brampton were applauded.
Gill brings a wealth of professional as well as volunteer experience to the job serving with the Seva Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity – Brampton, and the Sikh Arts Council.
“I feel strongly-supported in stepping into the role of chair, in part by my fellow members on the foundation board, but also by our alliance with the Health System’s leadership team, board and committees,” said Gill.
