News: MasterChef contestants volunteer for ‘Langar Sewa’ at Australia’s Sikh temple

For years now, the Sikh community has been religiously living by the ethos of Sikhism that propagates the idea of ‘vand chhako’, or sharing and consuming meals together. Almost every gurudwara has a community kitchen where the devotees cook food and serve it with utmost love. During one such day, the former contestants of MasterChef Australia came together to prepare a wholesome Sunday dinner at the Craigieburn gurudwara in Melbourne.

News: How the Sikhs Found a Foothold in Switzerland

In the Däniken town of Northern Switzerland, a gurudwara stands tall with a glistening yellow building that has four onion-shaped turrets. It stands out in the middle of the industrial town, which is otherwise known for the Gogsen nuclear plant. The Daniken gurudwara, a place of worship for the followers of Sikhism, was established in 2002 by a small Sikh community who came and settled in Switzerland after the religious upheaval in India.
