Sikhs have been performing at the InterFaith Concert since 1987 when they first joined the InterFaith Conference of Metropolitan Washington (IFC), an organization started in 1978....
The concert, which features many faith communities presenting their own music, helps increase the sense of community among the very diverse audience and participants.
"We're very excited to have her," said Lucy Thomas, a chapel administrator, of the 21-year-old recording artist. "This girl is amazing."

But when you take a listen to the GuruGanesha Band's music, the mantra is definitely there, but fused in "a unique blend of kirtan, raga, rock, and deeply meditative folk music" led by guitarist Guru Ganesha Singh.

Her dear friend Maria Shriver arranged for Snatam to come in and sing for her, including her favorite "Ong Namo". Oprah wrote on hearing Snatam sing, "It's a moment I'll savor forever."
A 73 old passionate singer of Gurbani, Lachman Chellaram, popularly known in Sindhi community as Dada Lachman Chellaram, enthralled the Sikh community in the Washington area with his melodious singing (Kirtan) of Gurbani and thoughtful explanations in English.
"As an artist, my desire, as much as it is to present good music, things that are technically and artistically evolved, is also .. to convey a message to society. Even if the song has no lyrics, the energy behind the notes and the titles may contain a message of love and compassion and acceptance and gratitude and enlightenment."
It promises to be a unique experience of carefully preserved cultural and spiritual musical art forms. The concert is open to the public.
