International musical concert of spiritual sounds to be held in Atlanta.
Roswell, GA (USA). September 12, 2011: On October 15th (5:30pm - 8:30pm) accomplished musicians from 6 countries will assemble in Atlanta at the Robert Ferst Center for Performing Arts, to recreate a rare performance of centuries old musical sounds, based on ancient Indian traditions. It promises to be a unique experience of carefully preserved cultural and spiritual musical art forms. The concert is open to the public.
The theme for this event is rephrasing "Entertainment as Innertainment".
Maestros from Canada, India, Germany, Spain, UK and USA will present "Gurmat Sangeet", a musical form originating from sub-continental India. This form of music has been researched by the scholars to evince human emotions through use of predefined musical notes called "Raags". The concert will also showcase some of the oldest known string and percussion instruments from India.
Through this musical concert, Sikh Educational and Welfare Association (SEWA), www.sewageorgia.org of Roswell, GA in collaboration with Raj Academy Conservatoire (www.rajacademy.com) UK, intends to provide a platform in Atlanta for accomplished musicians from around the world thereby putting Atlanta on the global map for this rare form of music.
The event is expected to be well attended by the local Atlanta communities, and invitees include dignitaries from public, educational and corporate groups.
