The dignity of a man who recently suffered a great loss resonated with the nation. People felt the unimaginable pain of losing a loved one. Things seemed to have petered out and now the world watches as those responsible for breaching the peace are hauled in front of the courts, the veil of their hoods removed...
Life can be hard, especially as Sikhs when we are very aware about the patterns of our mind and our subconscious. Here are some tips that I have learned in my life as a Sikh, some things I have noticed as I journey forward.
The Sikh community is very concerned about the NYPD policy prohibiting beards and requiring a hat.... I've always said that if someone wants to put their life on the line to protect my kids, we should accommodate them. I know the NYPD likes to operate like a military operation, but, ironically, the US Army has now allowed Sikh soldiers in!
I met this Swiss family at the Germany Akhand Keertan Smaagam. I'll try my best to convey the story of how this family found Sikhi....Veer Jee and Bhenji requested the Saadh Sangat to do an Ardaas for them...that Guru jee blesses them..so that they can live a complete Gurmat life-style and then take Amrit.

Last week, Sikh men in Southall stood defending a mosque whilst Muslims prayed. We see a clear example of multiculturalism and community cohesion at work; two different communities working together as part of the same community to achieve a common goal.
The upside to all this is that, as Lao-Tzu so pithily put it, the darkest moment is just before the dawn. Britain woke up to an army of residents with brooms and floor cloths to clean up the streets rekindling memories of that wartime spirit which meant we were never conquered. The dawn of a new age is coming where giving will be the new greed.
It was Gianiji’s vision and understanding of the changing times that he was able to understand the power of digitization that he not only agreed to allow us to digitize them but even to keep them for posterity. Gianiji died in 2007, but he lives on through his newspapers and continues to inspire PDL.
The look on the doctor’s face told me volumes—far more than he probably intended.
