ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾ ਵੇਲੜੀ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲੰਦੜੋ ਮਾ ਪਿਰੀ ॥ O Nanak, that time alone is approved, when my Beloved meets with me. [Ang 709]

Each moment is precious

No one knows how long we will live and how long our life is yet we always wish for things to be better, if we knew that we might not be able to see the next day, maybe we will start appreciating what we have in the moment and give up the greed for more.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਤ ਮਿਲਨ ਕੀ ਬਰੀਆ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕਹਾ ਨਹੀ ॥2॥2॥ Says Nanak, this is the opportunity to meet the Lord; why don't you remember Him in meditation? ||2||2|| [Ang 631]

Life is an opportunity

Being alive is not just for travelling, making money and fulfilling materialistic greed but it is an opportunity to discover that what it means to be alive. You are soo much more than your body, and when you realise this you get to know that you are connected to something much bigger than yourself

ਪ੍ਰਣਵਿਤ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ॥ Prays Nanak, recognizing the Lord's Command, I am at peace, day and night. ||6||5||17|| [ang 156]

Acceptance is the key to happiness

Many times we wish for our life to turn out differently. When things don’t go our way we usually tend to blame others for our failure and feelings. We are either clinging to a painful past or we are dreaming of the better days. We need to let go of the past and should appreciate the present. We need to learn to appreciate life and we need to start accepting how things go on

ਜੈ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤਾ ਤੈਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ ॥  We become like the One with whom we are imbued. [Ang 411]

Choose your companions wisely

Your life is directly influenced by the people and things that surround you. Everything that you do in daily life has a major impact on who you become. So surround yourself with happiness, surround yourself with those who inspire you
