Singh Hikers is a group that has been actively hiking peaks in southern California for the last 6 months. They have hiked all the major 6 peaks in the area, the highest being 'San Gorgonio' standing tall at 11,500 ft elevation. The group comprises doctors, engineers, technology executives, and businessmen from southern California.
The Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett attended and was warmly greeted the Hoosier Sikhs at the annual "Nagar Keetan: Sikh Parade Festival" at the Veterans Memorial Plaza in Downtown Indianapolis.
Langgar in many Gurdwaras today feeds the well-fed, is sometimes catered by an outside group and we see different foods being served to different groups. The needy are often those outside the Gurdwara location and they may like a different type of food than the ones we prefer.

Each of her paintings are imbued with the ‘Waheguru’ mantra, an empowering exclamation meaning ‘the Divine Teacher within.' She will guide us in exploring art as a form of meditation, spiritual dialogue and prayer.
As well as advertising the survey at the events I attended, I posted details on various websites and discussion forums to gather responses (see here). This first ever online survey of Sikhs gathered 650
responses and was really useful, allowing me to triangulate survey responses with my interview and fieldwork data and I’ve included some of these in my academic publications to date
Many local community members participated to show oneness and solidarity with the Sikh American community.

Sikhs in the city of Dayton, Ohio, also known as the birthplace of Aviation also participated in Independence Day celebrations. Thousands of Americans lined up on the sidewalks of streets, cheering the participants in 4th of July Parade. Different groups participated in the parade including education, commercial organizations, bands, the police, the military and fire department.
