Careful planning and deliberate effort are needed for accomplishing our personal and congregational goals at and through a Gurdwara. For a Gurmat school for example, a judicious mix of competent teachers, the latest educational technology, and sufficient time and effort devoted by diligent students jointly produces educational success. In Gurmat schools and Gurbani Vichar programs, the responsibility for learning and vichar is of the students and adults themselves.

A team of the Sikh Religious Society of Chicago members spent their Thanksgiving Day volunteering to serve the traditional Thanksgiving meal, also contribute food items and funds for the needy at the Salvation Army located at 825 Christiana Ave in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The local Sikhs have been doing this service since 1992.

Corruption was unknown in the state during his administration. He maintained a very high level of efficiency by getting the residents of state educated and giving practical training. All local people were preferred for jobs and no official was imported from outside in his time.

The theme of the PCS float and its contingent was to “Thank the Farmers on this Thanksgiving Day” because they work so hard in the fields to grow food to feed the world. PCS participants worked the crowd and the spectators loved Punjabi Bhangra music blast and live Punjabi Dhol drum. Many clapped and screamed in ecstasy and danced Bhangra to enjoy the moment.

An artfully told story sharing basic facts about Sikhs and who they are. This story should be in every classroom library, school library and public library in the United States.

I do not think we can eliminate social media in our lives but I do feel that it is important to protect ourselves and our families by putting systems in place, to ensure we get the benefits without as much harm.
