The din of ringing cell phones in the Sikh's holiest of holy shrine Golden Temple has made Sikh's apex body (SGPC) to mull over installing jammers in the Golden Temple complex to prevent the jarring mobile phone ring tones from ringing which disturb the concentration of fellow devotees and the sanctity of religious place.

The expressions of hurt and outrage in India that followed recent jokes by late-night comedian Jay Leno and the hosts of the BBC program Top Gear, along with treason charges against a cartoonist, have sparked a debate here: Is the nation too thin-skinned to take a joke?
Leno’s writers and researchers, while looking for the most valuable and beyond-the-reach real estate on earth, zeroed in - not on the Taj Mahal, not on the Palace of Versailles, not on the Vatican, not on Buckingham Palace - but the Golden Temple in Amritsar. I liked that … in addition to the joke itself.
