When Bhai Mani Singh came to know of the punishment, he approached the Sangat to relieve him of the second punishment i.e., removal from the Sikh Panth and prayed that even though his parts may be separated his Sikhism must not be separated. Panj Piare were then elected, who then gave the verdict that Bhai Mani Singh's "Sikhism will remain intact".
