Love Hands - SikhNet

God dwells in cozy homes.

The more traditional way of saying this is that as Sikhs we are encouraged to live the ‘grisht’ lifestyle, that of the householder. There is nothing contradictory in having a spouse, job and children, and also being spiritually elevated. In fact all of the Gurus, who came of age, were married and had children. We also believe that every day can be sacred and every hour is an opportunity for these lofty pursuits.  Dhan su vela jit darshan karna ‘the sacred moment is whenever we receive Thy presence.’

It is with this in mind that we celebrate Valentines day, a holiday that is largely commercialised and often reminds us of lower forms of human love. During this season the SikhNet staff decided to highlight videos and articles about healthy relationships and explore what love means to us.

May this material aid in making cozy homes, which is where God lives.

You don’t have to be married to use this information, it will be helpful to anyone. So feel free and browse through some (or all) of it.
