For being on the short list of the world's major religions Sikhism is surprisingly unknown in the western world. Thankfully Sikhs have spent 2019 in celebrating the 550th anniversary of the birth of Guru Nanak who initiated the most profound spiritual lineage and spiritual revolution arguably in history. The following is a trailer for the first professional documentary in English being done in honor of one of the planet's most benevolent patrons. We can't wait to watch and spread this this work!

In the opening narration of the trailer we find this powerful and tearse sentence that surely well summarizes the content and need for this first of it's kind film:

"This 15th century teacher, poet, and revolutionary activist who's universal message, justice & equality for all, women's empowerment, service to others, an honest living, and devotion to nature & the environment were well ahead of his time, and yet his story is virtually unknown to the western world." 

So far we get a glimpse of some of the presenters speaking of the life and teachings of Guru Nanak. Among them are:

Besides the speakers the film will surely feature prominent Sikhs who may be recognized in the west. One of such is singer, andGrammy nominee, Snatam Kaur Khalsa singing 'We are the people, people of love, let us people love today."

According the the website for the film ( GuruNanakFilm.com ) 'The documentary will air on PBS in early 2020.'
