We are The Roving Sikhs
The World's First Sikh Rock Band

The Roving Sikhs was born out of an Idea of creating something which did not exist before....A Sikh Rock Band
From Long Times Sikhs are seen as only capable of performing as Raagis and Tabla Players in Gurudwaras. So, the idea was to do something what no one else had done. Our founding members came up with such an approach.
Initially the Band was composed of Gurinderpal, Rajdeep, Gagandeep and Gurpreet. After a show or two Deepjot, Vidyut and Gurjeev joined the band for good.
As we all came from different family backgrounds and careers..it was quite a task to compromise.

So..settling together was difficult as hell but because we all shared a common love and passion for Music, it made things very easy and comfortable. We believe that Age is a Number and Maturity is a Choice...considering the fact that there is an age gap of 20 years between our youngest and oldest member..these issues were never a problem.
No one among us was a professional Musician...we had to struggle quite a lot to reach where we are today.
Towards the start, the Band started with Pure English and Hindi Rock but we realised that we needed something more, so keeping in mind the Sikhi Instinct within us, we came up with something pretty better...Some Innovations..and we came up with some cool Punjabi Rock.
It was due to our love of our mother tongue that the audience started enjoying our music and we loved what we played. Everyone has to struggle, in our initial gigs.. the audience only listened to our songs..some more shows and they started enjoying our songs..some more shows and they started Dancing to our tunes
Some more shows and a hell lot of tedious and unearthly practice sessions....They started loving us...
Those moments made us Realise that we had a lot to develop..lot more to learn...a lot more to play..and a lot more to Rock
