In 1998, Dileep essayed the role of a Sardarji in Malayalam comedy movie Punjabi House, which was a blockbuster hit film. A few months back, Dileep had worked out a script with Rafi Mecartin. The movie, which has been titled Lucky Singh, will be a sequel to Punjabi House and is expected to be released in 2011.

To prevent eruption of controversies over books and films based on the Sikh religion, gurbani, history and culture, the five Sikh high priests have directed the SGPC to constitute a “censor board” comprising Sikh scholars to examine and clear books and films before their formal release.
"Earlier Bollywood stars did Punjabi movies in their free time or just as a pastime. But today we have talented actors like Harbhajan Mann, who have made Punjabi movies their priority and are working hard to the support the industry," said Singh.
All entries must be received by September 15, 2010. No film experience is required to participate, and people of all ages are encouraged to submit.
