With blessings of the Almighty, it was a dream come true for 22 Sikh couples who got married in a befitting manner without spending a penny that too in the presence of over 25,000 Sikhs who came from far off places to bless the newly wed couples.

Sadly, the place has been forgotten by Sikh leaders for years, and only has a small gurudwara. There is no proper road to go to it either. Acting on the repeated pleas of the Punjab government, the Government of India has finally deleted the names of 142 persons out of total of 169 from the Black Lists of “Sikh NRIs”. Only 27 names now remain on the List. Punajb govt wants any discrepancy on names removed through mutual consultations between the state and the central officials.

The Sikh community took to two wheels to raise more than £4,000 for charity. The annual bike ride set off from Sainsbury’s in High Road, Ilford, where more than 70 members of the community met to take part.
