The story of the British Indian army on the Western Front starts on 6th August 1914. On that day, the War Council asks the Indian government to send two infantry divisions and a cavalry brigade to Egypt. The divisions chosen were the Lahore and the Meerut Divisions, later followed by the Secunderabad Cavalry Brigade which together formed the Indian Army Corps.
The rising population, increasing traffic volume, haphazard growth of cities, development of slum areas, rural to urban migration, perpetual shortage of funds, discharge of untreated solid wastes into the rivers and nullahs etc., are accentuating the pollution problem in Ludhiana.
Each day, every Fourth of July, gives me pause to reflect on my life-journey, people that I have met, the blessings that I have enjoyed since the nightmare of the Partition of India, and the prayers that have been answered.

Knowing the name of a disease tells us nothing about its true cause; nor does it lead us to the right treatment. This is the disease delusion.”
