In this book, I share stories as a window into life as a Sikh in America today – in my skin, in my shoes, in my turban. I also share how basic Sikh teachings, like oneness, love, and selfless service, have helped me navigate the challenges I’ve faced in ways that help me feel authentic, whole-hearted, and hopeful.
As we saw remembrance is not self-driven but requires deliberate efforts. The human mind has on an average processes 12,000 to 60,000 thoughts a day. So, imagine how easy it is to get swayed by

Human life is too precious a resource to waste.
Basically, the opposite of FAST FOOD, slow food is home-cooked healthy meals which are good for our bodies as well as the environment. Personally, I have found learning to cook and prepare food to be a bountiful experience especially when carried out with the help of my two children. It’s fun family time, they get to eat good healthy food and we get to learn and grow together.
With the introduction of formal schooling by the colonial administration in the Punjab, the medium of instruction issue arose as a new question and it immediately acquired the status of a major socio-linguistic controversy leading to much heated debate.
This is in accordance with the United Nations International Mother Language Day which is a worldwide annual observance held on 21 February approved by U.N.E.S.C.O. to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and to promote preservation and protection of all languages.
