In this ever-changing world there are timeless principles at work, sometimes beneath the surface, sometimes quite apparent. There are also special creations, enduring pieces of art, that reflect these principles in a way that captures our imagination and turns our attention inward.
But we are not alone in our love of hair. By educating ourselves about the stories of our neighbours and nations that have come before us, we can see that while our fight to maintain our distinctive identity is noble, it is hardly unique.
When a senior teacher came from Washington, I asked him, "Why is God's Name identified with truth? Why don't we say God's Name is love?" The man had a nice beard and turban.
