It is important that we have more Sikh media in general, but it is very important that we highlight Sikh women's stories and voices. This year, a dream came true and many good quality films about Sikh women were submitted. 39 films were entered into the Film Festival - nine from women directors. Films were submitted from India, U.K., Canada, Australia and U.S.A. These films created wonderful new stories and images, honoring the identity of the Sikh woman.
