So why I have felt like sharing such a personal story with my friends today? It made me think of the Partition and the reasons for which Pakistan was made. I am at a loss when I see our 17 year old friendship.
The Sikhs of Dayton joined in the celebration with enthusiasm and vigor. The flag hoisting ceremony (above) was performed by Victor Zimmer, the Color Guard of ROTC from the Wright State University Engineering Department, followed by the National Anthem and the Oath of Allegiance.
Let those road bumps strengthen our resolve rather than slow us down. "(We) have promises to keep, and miles to go before (we) sleep" (Robert Frost). Promises that our forefathers made to us, and that we must make to our forthcoming generations. Let the sparklers light the deepest corners of our hearts this 4th of July. Let us embrace...
