Under the aegis of Guru Granth Sahib a grand seminar on heritage of Khalsa and Amrit Banis was organized on July 27, 2013 at Gurdwara Sahib San Jose, California.

Representatives of Sikh Gurdwaras and organizations from across the US gathered for the 2012 National Sikh Convention from November 9 to 11 at Sikh Gurdwara Sahib of San Jose, California. Representatives came from Massachusetts to California and Wisconsin to Alabama to attend the convention.

Among the hundreds who gathered Wednesday night for a candlelight vigil at Sikh Gurdwara San Jose to remember the victims gunned down Sunday in Wisconsin were a smattering of newcomers, warmly welcomed by the congregation.

The Sikh community is holding its first martial arts competition in the Silicon Valley. The Sikh community is not unfamiliar to battle—both physical and political—in California and is ready to take on this competition with skill and strength.

In an event highlighting the influence and permanence of the Bay Area's Indian community, Gov. Jerry Brown and other political leaders joined thousands of colorfully dressed Sikhs who last Sunday celebrated the opening of their greatly expanded temple in the Evergreen hills of San Jose, making it the nation's largest gurdwara.
