Air India Friday sacked another 25 protesting pilots - taking to 71 the number dismissed - and asked aviation regulator Directorate General Of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to cancel their flying licenses.

The government on Tuesday decided to soon resume the Amritsar-Toronto Air India flight, the discontinuation of which since October has caused a lot of problems to frequent non-resident Indian fliers to Punjab.

But on account of some undisclosed reasons, Air India, for its own purposes, is going to convert Amritsar International Airport into only a spoke airport. This negates the status of an international airport... Air India is going to make New Delhi Airport the only hub airport in Northern India.
