Our intention is: 1: Clear any blocks that hold us Sikhs back as a group. 2: Bring increased unity to the panth. 3: Create a healing vibration in the Sikh community that can expand to the entire world.
Navjot Kaur - author of 'A Lion's Mane' shares her own journey: "Ardaas is powerful. I’m not quite sure what changed in my ardaas but it evolved from expectation to acceptance – acceptance of whatever is meant to be and that was a powerful moment."
Our ardas pleads for the opportunity to freely visit and manage the many Sikh historical places that now lie in Pakistan, such as Nankana Sahib, Punja Sahib, Dera Sahib, and Kartarpur, as well as the many other lesser known historical gurduaras.
The Sikh Ardas demands a complete surrender to Divine Will. Resignation to the Will of God will ultimately benefit the individual.
This book Ardas of the Sikhs is an inclusive, yet discreet work about the congregational prayer of the Sikh people. The Ardas for the Sikhs is the way of life ordained by their Gurus.
The Granthi singh had just finished doing katha and simran of the 11th asthpadee of sukhmani sahib, when a very upset young lady walked in. She said fateh to everyone with great humility and love. She looked very upset.
Sikhs always pray for universal well being (sarbat da bhala) in our daily prayer; performed individually or in religious congregations. We consider all beings as the Creation of One God; hence all are brethren and equal in His eyes. God loves all the being equally and profoundly.
The Shiromani Gurudwara Parbhandhak Committee (SGPC), apex religious body of Sikhs, today urged the President to commute the death sentence of militant Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar to life imprisonment "in view of the sentiments of the Sikh community".
Ardas means a formal prayer, supplication or humble request. It is derived from the Persian word 'Arzdaasht' meaning a petition. It is human nature to pray when one needs help say for wealth, children, personal affairs, health for peace and so on. How nice would it be if things get done on their own and one does not have to pray for getting something? That is the way Gurbani teaches...
I cannot teach you how to pray in words. Prayer comes only from the heart. It is your mouth and your ears. God is the speaker and God the listener.
Prayer
The Prayer preceeding all prayers: "May it be the real I who speaks. May it be the real Thou to whom i speak."

It is my ardaas before Satguru for a miracle on the Sikh panth at this time. We are totally disunited. We need a miracle to get united again. Guru Sahib jeeo, kirpa karo.
It occurred to me that there must be people who stand for the recitation of Ardas in Gurdwara, but who do not understand what is being said. Do you understand the meaning of the Ardas that is recited during Gurdwaras? I know there are many like myself who have grown up in Western culture where Punjabi is not our first language and and who don’t understand Punjabi well.
