Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Akaal Takht is the seat or throne of the Timeless! And the throne too is Timeless! Indestructible! Bigger and Brighter than all the Time-bound thrones! It’s bigger and brighter than everything that exists within time! It is non-destructible because it’s not the physical rendition that is Akaal – it’s the idea that is Akaal! The physical part – the Takht - depends on our understanding and interpretation of the idea. The physical expression of the idea in the shape of the physical building depends upon the buddhi or understanding of those who profess to embrace it. But it’s much more than that! Those who do not accept it try to raze it down. But it’s beyond them! The idea of Akaal is the source of energy! For all energy emanates from righteousness. It is the source of all Bravery! For all bravery is born of the idea of Timelessness. It is the source of unification of the Worldly and the Spiritual Glory– Miri-Piri! For the Timeless is the Ultimate Unified Glory. It is the source of Charhdi Kala! For the source of Charhdi Kala is the idea of righteousness, bravery and the unified Glory of the Timeless! Thus Akaal Takht is the seat of Energy! Bravery! Glory! Charhdi Kala! It’s bigger than life! on-destructible! The idea of the seat of the Timeless was born in 1607! 1984 was not the first year when an attempt was made to destroy it! Nor it will be the last! The sagacity of those who profess the idea of Timeless will continue to be tested. For us it is important to embrace the idea and understand its origin and history. For that alone will prepare us to live it and prepare for the future tests! Let’s understand the supremacy of the idea in our history. The foundation of the physical embodiment of the idea of timeless was laid by the 11 year old Guru Hargobind. Baba Buddha – the grand old man, and Bhai Gurdas – the grand scholar built it! The age of the hands does not matter! Timeless! Ageless! No mason even touched it – so says the legend. That is the supremacy! That is how the idea of Timelessness is to be revered! White, blue and kesri signify the three aspects – righteousness, bravery and sacrifice that are required to live this idea! The idea of Timeless is to be declared to the world at large. For it is the fountainhead of Charhdi kala and Sarbat da Bhala! That is precisely what the Nishan Sahibs do. With double vigour! Nourish the world with worldly and spiritual vigour!

Written on the painting is "Sann 1607" which means "Year 1607", when it was constructed. On the right side it says, "Kisee neh hath lagayo, Budhey aor Gudas banayo" which means "No mason even touched it, it was constructed by Baba Budha ji and Bhai Gurdas ji"
