It was so quick. Suddenly this man, who was visually impaired was toppling into the pit at the park street station

"I heard this scream and as I looked up I saw somebody tumbling into the tracks." Gurteg Singh was on his way to work one morning when he says he saw the man with a walking stick fall, "He's blind so there's no way he can see his footing or he can step up and try to pull himself up." And the next train was on it's way, "The sign on board said the train was two minutes away. So it was kind of like we have to do this now, we have to try to get him out."

You can see one commuter take off his backpack and try to pull the heavy set man up alone. Then you see Gurteg who is on the middle platform jump in, "In the moment fight-or-flight system kicked in, I jumped in, tried to push him up, tried to give him some leverage, and help the people who were already on the platform pulling him up.

The group hoisted the man up. Gurteg even ran back to get the man's walking stick and handed it up. The 23 year old is a Sikh and says his religion teaches him to be of service to others which makes today one he is grateful for, "Today just happened to be a day where I could help someone else and for me it seemed like a good day.

The man did suffer from minor injuries and has since presumably recovered.
