The Sikh Yatrees returned to India through a special train at the Wahga Railway Station on Sunday, SAMAA reported.

Evacuee Trust Property Board (BTPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiqul Farooq with Pardhan Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC), Additional Secretary Shrines Khalid Ali and other saw off the pilgrims.

During their 10-day stay in Pakistan, the Sikh pilgrims visited Janamastan of Baba Gurunanak Sahib at Nankana Sahib, Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassanabad and Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore and performed their religious rituals.

Speaking on the occasion, Indian Sikh yatrees leader Sardar Gormeet Sikh thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and ETPB Chairman Siddiqul Farooq for making best arrangements, including security and accommodations, for the yatrees.

“We are happy to see the construction and renovations of their gurdwaras,” he said.

The ETPB chairman said strong friendship between Muslims and Sikhs would help ensure peace in the region.

He said: “Islam teaches us a lesson of respect for other religions and it is our moral and constitutional duty to develop relationship with non-muslims on the basis of peace and love.” – APP
