Washington, D.C – The National Sikh Campaign’s new podcast, Sikh Meets World, released its second interview with Manka Kaur Dhingra, a Washington State Senator representing Redmond, WA in the suburbs of Seattle. The podcast episode digs into her her American story and what drove her into public office.

“Senator Dhingra details how she immigrated at an early age to California to her eventual election night win in 2017, becoming the first Sikh elected to a State Senate,” said Shawn Singh Ghuman, Co-Host of Sikh Meets World. “We touch on how she ended up starting a nonprofit as well becoming a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, and how her monumental election win changed how policy is being made currently in Washington State.”

“She is well on her way to a successful political career and Sikhism has taught her the values she now upholds in her life and career, which she talks about in the podcast,” said Gurwin Singh Ahuja, Co-Hose of Sikh Meets World. “We’re excited to bring guests like Senator Dhingra on to the show in order to help others out there understand her journey and life lessons and apply them to their own life.”
