Sikh community invites Bir Devinder Singh to Kenya
Saturday, July,27 2013 - PATIALA: Members of the Sikh community settled in Kenya (East Africa) has invited Bir Devinder Singh Former Deputy Speaker, Punjab as the main Speaker, to give discourses to the Sikh Youth of Kenya, on the various aspects of Sikh Religion, with reference to its glorious History, Culture and heritage.
Sikh community in Kenya organizes Sikh Youth festival annually in the Gurdwara at Makindu with a purpose to educate and enrich its younger generations, with regard to the Sikh way of life, strictly in consonance with the values enshrined in the Sikh faith.
Numbers of study circles are planned by the organizers to disseminate knowledge and inculcate lofty values and teachings of the Sikh Gurus, to the Sikh youth between the age group of eight to eighteen. Parents of the Sikh youth also attend all the discourses and stay with their children in the Gurdwara at Makindu.
An Akhand Path of Guru Granth Sahib is also organized by the Sikh youth to adhere to the solemnity of the occasion. This year the Sikh Youth Festival would commence from 31st of July to 3rd of August 2013 at Makindu which is 200 Kilo Meter from Nairobi.
