The ACR 20: Post-Secondary Sikh education bill gets unanimous approval by CA Assembly higher education committee.

The bill was introduced by Assemblyman Dan Logue of Yuba City and co-sponsored by assemblyman Perea on Feb 20th, 2013. Bill was presented by Dan Logue to the higher education committee of California Assembly on March 19th, 2013. Very powerful Testimony in the support of the bill was given by Mayor Ruby Dhaliwal of San Jaoquin, Dr Jasbir Singh Kang of Yuba City and Prof Onkar Singh Bindra of Sacramento.

Committee members unanimously approved the bill to proceed it to the full assembly for the vote. The bill was drafted due to tireless efforts of Prof Bindra and supported by many member of Sikh community from all over California.

Many organizations including Punjabi American Heritage Society of Yuba City and Sikh Council of Central Valley whole heartedly backed the efforts of Assemblyman Logue and Prof Bindra. Many Sikhs came to support and speak in the favor the ACR 20 included: Didar Singh Bains, Hardeep Kaur Singh, Gurjatinder Singh Randhawa, SiriPritam Kaur Khalsa, Matlesh K Ghuman, Harjit K Bajwa, Charanjit S Bath, Pashura Singh Dhillon, Nahar S Heer, Pal Singh Bindra, Miky Singh Hothi and many others. Lisa Kaplan of Natoma School Distract wrote a letter of support.
