As today is World poetry day, we present to you a poem by Blogger Nandip Aulak:

#Nostalgic

We've replaced smiles
With swipes and likes
Tweets instead of notes
Computer games for bikes
Rowing machine for boats

Now memories live in PCs
We forget the moment
Robots until we freeze
Slaves to every component

Falling in love at first sight
We Photoshop to beautify
Swipe left or swipe right
Now left means goodbye

Emotions now emoji's Smiling face with open mouth and cold sweat
I'm laughing out loud
Or I'm thinking OMG
I'm lost in this cloud

We're all sitting down
Yet we're rushed off our feet
Responding to messages
Invitations just to speak

No maps with grids
I don't need to navigate
Google does it for me
It's mans new best mate

Your status says it all
Forget old handshakes
No gesture to big or small
Permanent history of mistakes

Updates, tweets, likes and shares
We've lost human connection
Cartoon faces to show we care
Delete is a new form of rejection
And polls tell us what's fair

A world governed by analytics
What about our instincts?
When did we become a statistic
Soon we might just be extinct

This virus is here to stay
It's as common as the cold
A youthful child at play
It refreshes as we grow old

I'm child of the 80's
Thank goodness for that
I played out and climbed trees
Instead of playing whilst I'm sat
