Guru Ram Das Ji’s life and legacy are humbling and awe inspiring. We feel very blessed to have Guru Ram Das as our Guru. Even when he became the Guru, he disguised himself as a villager so he could anonymously serve the pilgrims who were coming to see him!
Such was his devotion to his devotees.
Even as Guru he preferred to go to the kitchen and clean the dishes!
Such was his service to the Sangat.
Even though he was the Guru, he gave higher position to other holy men and dusted their feet with his beard.
Such was his humility before all.
The spiritual love of Guru Ram Das is deep and beyond the power of words to express.
He labored for many years to create the Harmandir Sahib, one of the most sacred places on earth which now feeds over 40,000 people every day. Great, great is Guru Ram Das! |
On this day let us each take the time to contemplate his life and teachings. May his spirit live in us, may his legacy continue to grow through us, may we accept his guidance, protection and leadership to carry us through the tests of time and space.
