His movie ‘Five Folds’ is making waves

Ludhiana, October 5: Satdeep Singh has been getting widespread appreciation for the movies he has been making. His movie “Five Folds” has won the best film award in the intermediary age group Jasdeep participated in.

The short film is about five folds of turban, in which a father of a child tells him about the importance of turban and tells him to recognise the five folds of turban with truthfulness, satisfaction, sympathy and help to the needy, piety for religion and patience.

In fact, his films have been winning in the category for the last three years says Satdeep. "I make movies that transcend religion and that appeal to everyone. The messages in the films are universal and everyone can relate to it," says the 25-year-old.

An engineer by profession, he is working as a Senior Research Fellow with the Mechanical Engineering Research and Development Organisation (MERADO). Talking about his passion for film-making, he said that he had been inclined towards films since childhood. "I was in Class VI, when I directed a play at school," he says. During the final year of my engineering, I made a film titled “Virse De Waris Nu”.

After that he made films for online film festival at Sikhnet.com, in 2010 by the name of “Forgotten Truth”, which was based on the truth about death."The pains, suffering, strife in a man's life are the result of forgetting the fact that ultimately one has to die," he says. The movie won widespread applause. Another movie “Born to Lead” was again appreciated a lot, he says.

“Five Folds” is going to be screened at the Sikh International Film Festival to be held in New York in November this year, he says.

Having won the appreciation, he plans to get into film-making more seriously. "This is my passion and I want to make good world-class movies," he says. I am getting a lot of good projects as well, he says.
