Saturday, 21 February 2009 - PHAGWARA: The first Indian recipient of the Australian Bravery Decoration award  Dr. Albel Singh Kang visited Punjab Police Academy Phillaur and interacted with Academy Director cum DGP Dr. R.S. Gill,  and other officers of the Academy on various issues of common interest.

In his address to the academy officers and trainees, he said that the Punjab Police Academy training is an integrated one whereas in Australia the police training is imparted separately for separate roles in the police working. He further said that the best solution to most of the common international problems is the collaborative and partnership police programs. He said that the best feature of the Phillaur training which is being appreciated in other countries is the focus on higher academic degree oriented programs being imparted to the police personal. Dr. Kang was deeply impressed to see the latest facilities introduced in the Academy as well as the qualitative publications.  R.S.Gill also presented the Academy decoration memento to the first Australian sikh police officer.

A presentation on the role and importance of international police partnership programs was made by  Dr. D. J. Singh Senior Deputy Director and Dean of the Academy. Dr. Kang was highly impressed to see the standards and professional quality of the police education, research and training inputs being provided at Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur.
