EcoSikh Joins White House in Roundtable
June 1, 2015: Washington DC - EcoSikh President Dr. Rajwant Singh joined White House and State Department officials in a Faith-Based Roundtable on Climate Change at the Executive Office in Washington, DC. The talks engaged many faiths to discuss their tradition's perspective and responsibilities to the environment. Dr. Singh spoke on EcoSikh's work in the U.S. and India to inspire sangat members and gurdwara leaders to take action on climate change. He brought up the Green Gurdwara Guide spearheaded by EcoSikh, which is set to officially launch later this year. |

EcoSikh Gala 2015: Large Gathering of Sikhs for Mother Earth
June 21, 2015: Washington DC - Dr. Mohanbir Sawhney's shares his thoughts on environmental preservation in a constantly spending and extracting world economy at the annual EcoSikh Benefit Dinner in Washington, DC. Dr. Sawhney, who is a world-renowned business consultant and acclaimed professor at the prestigious Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, is no stranger to the ins and outs of economic growth, which often has disastrous affects on the environment. In his keynote speech, Sawhney challenged the audience to reduce the excess in their lives by outlining ways to live with less: shrinking the number of cars they own, trimming their energy usage, and using economic growth to invest in environmental conservation. EcoSikh joins the March on Climate in Rome Pope Francis Hails Multi-Faith Climate March July 1, 2015: Vatican City - US based Sikh global environmental organization, EcoSikh presented the Sikh perspective on Climate Change. Sikh representatives shared Guru Nanak teachings on environmental issues to a huge gathering comprising of over 100 youth environmental leaders and hundreds of social activists from all over the world at the opening of a major international event for climate action at Rome, Italy. Young Punjabis Act on Climate Punjab Youth Commit to Action on Climate at EcoSikh Workshop July 28, 2015: Ludhiana, Punjab - Over 35 young environmental leaders participated in a workshop hosted by EcoSikh at the Black Pearl Sarabha Nagar. The workshop was aimed to empower the emerging environmental leaders of Punjab in tracking the issues, team building and planning action for environmental preservation in the light of upcoming UN Paris summit on Climate Change in December 2015. Youth leaders from Ludhiana, Moga, Chandigarh, Mohali, Fazilka, Delhi, Ferozpur and Amritsar joined to get training on environmental advocacy and leadership skills...Read more. |

EcoSikh Engages with French Government on Climate Action
August 3, 2015: Chandigarh, Punjab - US-based EcoSikh announced the environmental action plan in tandem with the United Nations next major climate conference, COP21, to be held in Paris this year. EcoSikh has prepared a plan to fight the effects of climate change and this plan was recently presented at a conference organized by the French Government in Paris. EcoSikh's plan includes organizing youth environmental leadership training workshops; training parcharaks/granthis (preachers) to become educators on climate change issues; releasing and implementing EcoSikh's Green Gurdwara Guide to make the gurdwaras eco-friendly; and organizing a water dialogue to create public awareness about water conservation.
