Anand Primary School are very pleased to announce 2 very exciting pieces of news. We have appointed a Head Teacher, Kulbinder Kaur Pouni and we have also secured a school site.
Anand Primary School will open on Great Brickkiln Street, Graiseley the former Orchard Centre site in September 2013. A substantial budget has been secured for a full refurbishment and new build.
The former Victorian building will have state of the art facilities for the pupils, and for use by the whole community. A new multi-purpose hall will be built. Existing playing fields, a community allotment and the school’s very own urban forest will ensure that pupils will get the opportunity to spend more of their learning time outdoors. The latest in hi tech ICT equipment and a focus on sustainability will result in a school proud of its local heritage and delivering inspirational futures for all.
Our Head Teacher, Kulbinder succeeded against strong competition during a rigorous two day interview process. Kulbinder brings over 23 years of experience as an exceptional teacher, leader and motivator, inspiring her pupils and staff alike. During her career she has successfully set up a primary phase school, spent 11 years as Special Education Needs Coordinator and headed up teams recognised by Ofsted as being outstanding.
The role of the first Head Teacher at Anand Primary School is not for the faint hearted but as an inspirational teacher with a proven track record who clearly understands the School’s vision that all its pupils will take responsibility for themselves, care for others and reach for more, Kulbinder will be in her element. She will be tasked with delivering the highest standards of teaching, building a team in which every member is a leader of learning and developing close partnerships with the community.
Kulbinder was very pleased to say “It is a great privilege to be appointed as the first Head Teacher Designate of Anand Primary School. I look forward to the journey ahead with Anand Primary School team in shaping the first Sikh ethos free school in Wolverhampton. I feel it is important that we strive relentlessly to ensure the best possible outcomes for the most precious belongings of society – our children.”
