Editor's Note: Though style of humor may vary from person to person everyone can surely agree to the point of this skit: American media has all but ignored the biggest election in history.

Apr 29, 2014:
A hilarious eight-minute rant by British comedian John Oliver last weekend gave more insight and airtime to the Indian elections than most U.S. television news channels.

On the Sunday debut of “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver,” a late-night HBO talk show, Mr. Oliver pointed out how fascinating the Indian elections are and how most news outlets in the U.S. are missing a great story.

“Don’t pretend you aren’t interested in this, America. The last time you heard a rags-to-riches story about a tea-selling Indian kid (like prime-ministerial candidate Narendra Modi), you threw a f—— Oscar at it.”

While the point of his entertaining and educational ramble was that U.S. media was not covering the world’s largest election, here at The Wall Street Journal’s India-dedicated blog, India Real Time, we have covered every issue he mentioned, including the call for more toilets, the incredible Mr. Modi’s hologram tour, the election’s mind blowing numbers and even the leaping leopard of Maharashtra.
