The most important and major festival of the Sikh Community across the world "SRI GURU NANAK DEV JI BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS'', the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh Religion, who spread the message of peace and communal harmony over the world is going to be celebrated on a grand and mammoth scale in Telangana from November 2 to November 6, 2014.
To mark the important occasion, the Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj have joined hands to make the celebrations a grand success.
After the formation of new Telangana State, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao, Cabinet Ministers and Karimnagar Mayor S Ravinder Singh and other dignitaries are going to participate in the celebrations.
In this context, two grand colourful, "NAGAR KEERTANS'' (HOLY PROCESSIONS) will be taken out by Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj at 3 pm on November 3 (Monday) and another by Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad on November 4 (Tuesday).
On the day of "PRAKASH UTSAV CELEBRATIONS’’ which falls on November 6 (Thursday), a grand "VISHAAL DEEWAN'' (MASS CONGREGATION) will be held at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally from 10.30 am to 4 pm on November 6, 2014.
NAGAR KEERTAN (HOLY PROCESSION)

The Prabhandak Committee, Presidents, S. Baldev Singh Bagga (GSS) and S. Kuldeep Singh Bagga (GSGSS), General Secretaries S Inderjeet Singh Tuteja (GSGSS), S Avtar Singh Khanuja (GSS) and other committee members said that a colourful ‘’ NAGAR KEERTAN’’ wil be taken out on November 3 at 4 pm from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj and will pass through Siddiambar Bazar, Jambagh, Putli Bowli,, Central Gurudwara Saheb Gowliguda and reach Gurudwara Singh Sabha in the evening.
Over 20,000 to 25,000 devotees from across the state will take part in the procession. Guru Granth Sahebji (the Revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a beautifully decorated vehicle along with ``Nishaan Sahebans'' (Religious Flags) all along the procession.
The Procession will be marked by rendering of Shabad Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the Jatha Tera Jatha and Keerthani Jathas of men and women. Besides that "Panj Pyaras'' (five beloved ones) in their traditional attire will be the cynosure of all eyes.
The major attraction of the procession will be the display of "GATKA'' a famous Sikh martial art forms and other breathtaking sword exercises all along procession by Dashmesh Kalgidhar Jatha and other Special Gatka Party will also exhibit their Gatka skills.

ON NOVEMBER 4, (TUESDAY) 2014.
Another Mass "NAGAR KEERTAN'' (Holy Procession) will be taken out on a grand scale on November 4 at around 4.30 pm from Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and proceed via Natraj talkies, Clock Tower, BATA, Kingsway, Monda Market, Alpha Hotel and reach Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad in the evening.
The major attraction of the procession will be the display of "GATKA'' a famous Sikh martial art forms and other breathtaking sword exercises all along the procession by Dashmesh Kalgidhar Jatha and Special Gatka Party will also exhibit their Gatka skills.
VISHAAL DEEWAN (MASS CONGREGATION)

As the main Birthday Celebrations Guru Nanak Devji falls on November 6, 2014 a "VISHAAL DEEWAN'' (MASS CONGREGATION) will be held at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally from 10.30 am to 4 pm on November 6 (Thursday), where over 35,000 to 40,000 Sikh Devotees and other community faiths will converge at the programme. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along Cabinet Ministers and Karimnagar Mayor S Ravinder Singh will attend the celebrations and take the blessings of Guru Granth Sahibji.
The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans (Holy Hymns) by the reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) who are being specially invited from various parts of the country to render shabad keertans.
Bhai Gurpreet Singhji of Shimla wale, Bhai Balwinder Singhji Rangeela, Chandigarh, Bhai Jaswinder Singhji, Bhai Hari Singh Hazuri Ragi Jathas, Bhai Jaswinder Singh and other reputed Ragi Jathas will recite Shabad Keertans and Kathas and throw light on the teachings of Sikh Gurus. After the culmination of the congregation Guru Ka Langar (free community kitchen) will be served to the devotees.
TWO NIGHT KEERTAN DARBARS
ON NOVEMBER 5 AND 6, 2014.
A Night Keertan Darbar will be organised on November 5 (Wednesday) at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh sabha, Afzalgunj from 7.30 pm to 11 pm.
