Published - Nov 8, 2013 ABOUT THE SPEAKER
--------------------------------- ABOUT THE TALK Sukhmeet Singh Sachal came from Amritsar, India to Vancouver, Canada at the age of seven, and experienced what it felt to live in a diverse nation, full of differences. When he first went to school, he was not accepted by the students in his class: bullied for the way he talked with an Indian accent, his buttoned shirts, and for being an assisted English learner. While he may not have liked this feeling for himself, he disliked it when others were not being treated properly. Since then, Sukhmeet has worked with other students and adults to create change and spread the message of diversity. From little events and creating organizations to traveling to other countries, he describes the amazing experiences and challenges he has faced in the way for making a difference out there in the local and global community. --------------------------------- ABOUT TEDxKIDS@BC The mission of TEDxKids@BC is to help create a world in which the kids have been invited to explore their passions and to contribute in realizing such a world for the youth in our community.
