Buddhists and Sikhs of Doncaster are joining forces to help the homeless this weekend.

A 24 hour sponsored relay ‘Kora’ walk is being held around the Lindholme island in the middle of Hatfield Moors between 10am on Saturday, September 12 and 10am on Sunday September 13.

All funds raised from the sponsored walk will be used to support a community project for the homeless in the Doncaster - Guru Nanak’s Free Kitchen, a project organised by the Sikh community in Doncaster which provides a hot meal every week for local homeless people and those in need.

Each full lap is 2.9 miles. There are shorter routes to suit all ages and abilities.

During the sponsored Kora Walk there will be the annual Kinship of Faiths Gathering scheduled this year at 2pm on the Saturday.

Speakers from different faiths are invited to make a contribution based on the need for a peaceful, harmonious and informative future together: locally, nationally and internationally.
