What do we call a group of youth full of energy, exuberance and most importantly the will to walk on the path of their Gurus? We call it pure DYNAMITE!

Three years ago, a group of youngsters with strong will-power and a lot of energy came together in an act which has created an example for many. This was the Akal Network. The purpose was as simple as 'sewa' for their community and following the path put down by their Gurus. They did follow mainstream ways of lending a hand to the community like arranging 'langar' or the community kitchen for one and all but felt that they can achieve a lot more.

Akal Network also found a unique way which somehow had been overlooked due to the difficulty of the task. They started with providing a sense of security during the 'Nagar kirtans'. By patrolling the whole procession throughout the complete duration was a mammoth task since it requires manpower, strong will and strength too. This group however did not waver from the task. Being present before the procession started, organizing and planning things to have everything in order was a part of the task and it went up to the closing of the procession. The anti-social elements of the society who look at the processions as an opportunity for stealing, eve teasing and molestation, were picked up by this group individually and reported to the authorities. This has certainly made the 'nagar kirtans' safer for general public and especially young women who hesitate to attend such occasions and are not able to be a part of the 'sangat'.

Every new endeavor has its own challenges and Akal Network certainly had no dearth of them. Lack of commitment from some members, selfish reasons to pursue this cause and lack of finances can be a few to name. However, all these troubles did not deter Akal Network's members. Singhs and Kaurs of different age groups have pitched in with their help throughout the past Five years of the existence of Akal Network. This help was financial, motivational and most importantly added to the manpower which is needed the most for such accomplishments.

Akal Network went another step ahead with these uplifting events by arranging for screenings of the movie Bhai Taru Singh Ji. This event was arranged in majority of the Gurudwara sahibs and other venues in Delhi, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Bangalore and some cities in Punjab. Thousands of people came together in the sangat to watch this movie and brought along their kids to educate them about their religion too.

Another Audio project by this UK artist Indi Kaur is in the pipeline and going to be released very soon throughout India, looking at Akal Network's sewa and enthusiasm, the artist gave these rights for India distribution as sewa to the NGO.

Akal Network has been organizing Events like Gaavo Sachi Baani by Ishmeet Singh Foundation and Mr. Singh by Sat Sri Akaal Trust.

Not only being Religious these youngsters are dedicated to work for their planet earth and some under poverty line people living on it. For the same this NGO has joined hands with Prithvi Organization based in Maharashtra and working on several projects.

More events like The Emperor's Event are in the planning stage and Akal Network intends to do a lot more for the religion and the society as a whole.

Akal Network is currently looking for support in any possible way to achieve a lot more and for that, their only support is the common man. No political society or group will help them since these are a bunch of pure-hearted people who wish to serve the community without any selfish reasons. Taking time off from their studies, work and life, they are trying to put in their best to uphold the values of Sikhi and promoting it. With every new dawn, they hope to receive more support from the 'sangat', the common man to come forward and support them for this selfless cause.
