The writer belongs to the ruling family of the former Princely State of Amb-Darband in Pakistan. Jahandad's family has had close ties with the Sikh community in northwest Pakistan since 1750. He is also the founder of Indus Heritage Club, a company that promotes Sikh heritage tourism in Pakistan.
