Question:

Should I avoid people who compromise my grace?

Answer:

First of all, if you are established in your grace, no one can compromise it.

As people grow they might grow away from each other. This is a natural process. We all have discrimination. Discrimination is just our ability to make choices. You can choose not to listen to slander. You can choose environments of grace and dignity. Your choices reflect your own level of grace and dignity. You may start choosing to be around people that are kind and compassionate. These choices are not to put anyone down. If you are a discriminating person, you think before you act.

That is what we choose. But sometimes God puts you in situations where you don't have the choice to be with someone who is ungraceful, mean or angry. Just remember, your grace is YOUR grace. No one can take it away from you.

"Those who have discriminating minds, continually examine their own selves. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they sing the Lord's Glorious Praises." - Guru Amar Das (P.128)
