Sat Siri Akal ji

My name is Paramveer Singh. I’m emailing you at the request of Gurumustuk Singh to share a little of my story with you….

I grew up in Amritsar and, like many others, I took my Sikh Heritage for granted. I had so many personal, emotional and mental issues, I never knew what to do. I wreaked havoc in my own life, because I had nowhere to turn to. Instead, I joined the Army, I turned to drinking alcohol, and my life went on — dark and empty. I even found SikhNet in 2006, but the beautiful inspiration passed over me, because I had no connection to my spirit, my religion, my Guru.

Then, a few years ago, I came across a video from Guruka Singh on the SikhNet website and suddenly something hit me. All of a sudden YouTube searches were filled with beautiful inspiration! Guruka Singh was talking about meditation, peace, and connecting with the Guru, and so much more. I started listening to shabad after shabad of Chardikala Jatha; day and night, using the shabad text to sing along with them.

All of a sudden my life had meaning, and something astonishing happened - I learned that I have calligraphy skills I never knew I had. I just thought one day, that I should write out shabads on canvas, and then it became a passion for me.

SikhNet has helped me learn to use my emotions and feelings to channel my passion properly. I am preparing for a Gurmukhi calligraphy exhibition in summer 2020, and if it wasn't for SikhNet and their videos I would have never made it so far.

This past summer I visited Espanola and met Gurumustuk Singh. I had to give him a big giant hug for what an impact SikhNet has had on me and many others. Now when I sit down on my art desk, I put on the Gurbani Media Center and listen to Chardikala Jatha and Ek Ong Kaar Kaur's Japji translation in English. I believe their videos have helped me focus and calm down. I have never felt such power and calmness before.

Without Sikhnet, without the seva they do 24/7/365, I wouldn't have ever learned an understanding of bani.

I’m just one person. SikhNet touches 7 million people every year. Many others will be awakened by Guru ji’s kirpaa through SikhNet. Let’s support SikhNet’s work together!

Thank you,

Paramveer Singh Osahan

P.S. I want to help inspire you to support SikhNet because it has been so important in my life and I think it’s important for others, too.

Here’s my special offer to you: I don’t sell my calligraphy art, but if you would like some calligraphy art, use this link to make a donation of $250 USD or more to SikhNet and I will create an original piece just for you, and send it in the mail.
