Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust

Dear Sangis of Guru Gobind Singh ji & Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib ji, the heart weeps in pain when people speculate wrong information about Hemkunt Sahib Yatra, place of Gods & Spiritualism. In fact, pilgrims often fear with names of Landslide, Cloudburst (Baddal Fatna), Heavy Rainfall etc. etc.

While safety of Yatris is the topmost priority for the Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust, we also want the maximum number of pilgrims/shradhalu to take Lahaa of the yatra and guru's darshan in the short span of 4 months every year. Therefore taking a balanced approach, Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust would like to share the following facts with you: 1) If you hear news about disruption of yatra for any reason please cross check it. Many a times the bad weather or some other problem is miles away from the route of the yatra. For this purpose we are constantly updating our website and mobile apps and will be the first ones to inform the sangat if at all there is any trouble, big or small, anywhere along the route and the status of the resolution of the problems.

2) Landslides are common in hills. However, in the past few years Border Road Organisation (BRO) has tremendously strengthened roads & retaining walls around the hills which has considerably reduced landslides. Whenever a landslide occurs BRO usually clears the road within 2 hours and traffic keeps moving. Those who are frequent visitors to Hemkunt Sahib know this.

3) Cloudburst (Baddal Fatna): In plain areas lightning (Bijli Girna) is commonly seen during rains, but lightning does not touch us (except very rarely). Similarly, cloudburst cause excessive rains only, which can be dealt by slow driving or being cautious. Cloudburst of the size and scale which happenes in 2013 was an exception and hopefully last of its kind.

So please stay strong and don't get trapped by rumours. And just remember what Guru Saab said…
