This last week, from March 25th to 27th, over 230 children attended a special Gurmat Course, that was held at Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar in New Westminster.

This three day course was organized in-conjunction with the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle (Toronto ) and children from the ages of 5 to 24 and including parents attended.

The team of Sevadaars from Toronto, were asked by the Gurdwara Sahib to organize this camp and their dedication and extensive material, both written and in presentation form, is what made this camp so unique and different from other Gurmat camps. "It was amazing to see so many beautiful young children learning about Sikhi - this Gurdwara, really is the Home of the Sikh Youth." Hardip Singh, sangat member of Gurdwara Sahib.

During the 3 day camp, children learned about Sikh history and in particular martyrs from the time of Guru Arjun Dev Jee to the time of Banda Singh Bahadur Ji. To make the course even more interesting, the children were taught using multimedia techniques. Games such as "Who wants to be a Sikhonaire", modeled after the popular TV show "Who wants to be a millionaire", kept the children and adults interested. Prizes were awarded to children who were able to answer questions from material that they were taught in the course. Every child left with some small gift too and the Toronto Sevadaars will be back in May at Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar to hand out the results of the course.

The Gurdwara Sahib would like to thank the volunteers from Toronto and the local volunteers and parents in making this course, so successful.
