ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS, CLASS OF 2010!!!

It's that time of year where many of you are waiting to hear back from colleges and many of you have already heard back!

It's also the time to be filling out applications for scholarships and loans.

The Sikh Youth Scholarship would like to invite you to fill out the application which is NOW AVAILABLE online at the Sikh Youth Scholarship website or via a direct link here.

The Sikh Youth Scholarship aims to assist Sikh students on their path to academic success. We believe students with strong educational backgrounds have the potential to maintain their Sikh identity and become positive role models within our community. With a focus on identity, the scholarship's intent is to aide the Sikh youth on their journey to academic excellence by yielding better leaders for tomorrow.

Applicants must:

  • Be an Aspiring Gursikh;
  • Be passionate and self-motivated towards community service;
  • Be seniors in high school planning to attend a four-year college/university;
  • Be residents of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut; and
  • Have a minimum of 3.00 cumulative high school GPA

Candidates must:

  • Complete the Sikh Youth Scholarship Application including writing prompts in one sitting (the application cannot be saved on your server) and
  • Postmark an official high school transcript & 2010 Tax returns (or 2009 if 2010 are not prepared yet) to: The Sikh Youth Scholarship P.O. Box 2361, Flemington NJ 08822

Recipients must:

  • Participate in the administrative activities of The Sikh Youth Scholarship Executive Board;
  • Join the staff at Camp Chardi Kala during the summer prior to beginning their undergraduate education;
  • Develop and execute a seminar targeted towards high school students and their parents, pertaining to the collegiate application process and high school student development; and,
  • Deliver a presentation on a topic approved by the Executive Board
