Fatehgarh Sahib, Dec 4, 2013 (YP Bureau): Mr. Arun Sekhri, Deputy Commissioner launched a unique World’s first website ‘www.gurdwarajob.com’, at historical Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib today. This portal will benefit all those, who are looking for better quality of life overseas while working in Sikh religious institutions. The service of this website will be free for Gurdwaras and users worldwide.
Addressing the media persons after launching the website Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts of Amrit Pal Singh in setting up this website. He said this web portal will work as a bridge between people looking for jobs in Gurdwaras worldwide as well as for the Gurudwara managements, who are looking for competent, capable, trained & experienced staff to manage the religious institutions. He said that the portal will not only bring the employers and job seekers on a common platform, but also eliminate middlemen who charge huge money for arranging such jobs overseas from innocent people.
He said on one hand there are unnumbered Gurdwaras all over the world and they require capable and efficient staff like Ragis, Pathis, Granthis, Langri, Sewadar, Katha Vachak, Computer operators, Librarian, Cashier, Supervisor, Manager, Management Committee Members and on the other hand, there are large number of trained and talented people who want to serve in the oversea Gurdwaras but are unaware of the vacancies. So this portal will provide them the platform for Gurdwara managements worldwide to choose competent staff from the list of resumes posted by the job seekers and to post their vacancies to invite applications worldwide.
Amrit Pal Singh MBA,who worked in many countries in leading companies said that he set up the portal as he got the directions from God himself to work on the cause for the welfare of the Sikh community and also to spread Sikhism worldwide so that it makes an impact in the life of a common Sikh . He said that when he was working abroad, he met many Ragi, Pathis who were driving taxi or doing petty jobs, staying illegally used to tell him about their hardship and how they were cheated by agents back home of huge amount of money for migrating them to these countries for doing jobs in Gurdwaras to earn a better life for themselves and their families. They narrated how they arranged loans, took the risk of coming overseas and now they are doing odd jobs for their survival. He said it inspired him to bring a common platform and to set up web portal to eliminate the middlemen and the Managements could employ best of the talent worldwide for performing the services in the Gurdwaras.
