This is dedicated to Bhajan Kaur, the first teacher to bring Shabd Guru and the science of Kundalini Yoga to Uruguay, a country of three million people. Bhajan Kaur left her body due to cancer on the evening of November 27th, 2010.

Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, is a jewel that sits on the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Rio de La Plata. It is a city the shines bright against the deep blue waters as it meanders through the coast line creating a series of bays and harbors. It is the only country in South America that has neither indigenous population nor remnants of its indigenous roots. Montevideo is an eclectic city that could pass for any European city. It has broad avenues, unique boutiques and restaurants and lots of wonderful monuments depicting its history. The Uruguayans themselves are bright, mannerful and full of life.

For the past 5 years the Uruguayans would come to Argentina to participate in the Tour. With their expansion and prayer they requested this year to host the Tour. We were received with so much love and affection that by the time we had to leave, we were regretting that it was just a two day visit. Upon our early arrival from Argentina, we were taken to the home of Sat Sangat Kaur for a welcoming, royal vegetarian feast of a lunch with the Uruguayan sangat. From there we were taken to the television show called "Este Boca es Mia" [This is My Mouth]. This popular show features a guest speaker, S.S. Gurubachan Singh Khalsa, and a panel of commentators who comment on what the guest speaker says. It was a lively discussion on the value of teaching the Police techniques of breath and meditation to handle the stress. For one hour the panel and audience interacted and the end result was a debate that stirred a lot of controversy.

From that show we were again whisked away to another one hour show highlighting the effects of meditation and Kundalini Yoga. During that period, S.S. Gurubachan Singh discussed several topics such as Sikh way of life, the relationship between the breath and the mind and the effects of Kundalini Yoga for handling stress. It was a great show that is watched nationally and played throughout the entire week.

At the end of that television interview we were taken to the AQUARIO CENTER for the Lord of Miracles lecture that was attended by many of Montevideo's public. For 2 hours S.S. Gurubachan Singh Khalsa led them in 3 meditations to Gurbani Kirtan as well as Ram Das Singh Khalsa teaching them how to dance bhangra. It is always a highlight of the class when Ram Das dances and the rest of the participants learn. By the time we retired that evening we were grateful that the 20 hour day had ended.

On our second and final day in Uruguay, Dr Ardass Singh and S.S. Gurubachan Singh Khalsa held a breakfast meeting with the Kundalini Yoga instructors and Friends of Yoga. There they discussed how to continue to unite through the seva program of langar and other service projects. For the rest of the day, Dr Ardass Singh met with many Uruguayans to heal them until that evening S.S. Gurubachan Singh and Dr Ardass held 2 more evening lectures on the benefit of yoga and health.

After a wonderful sampling of Uruguayan pizza, the tour did an evening of sightseeing of the monuments of Montevideo. The following morning we found ourselves on a flight to Rio de Janiero, Brazil, the next city on this wonderful 8th Lord of Miracles Tour in Honor of Guru Ram Das.
