Suspect Found and to be Charged in
Dalbir Singh Murder Case August 17, 2012 (New York, NY) - On Wednesday, August 15, 2012, Dalbir Singh was shot and killed at a convenience store in Milwaukee, Wisonsin. Dalbir Singh was a sangat member of the Oak Creek, Wisconsin Gurdwara. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Dalbir Singh's family and the Oak Creek Sangat. The Sikh Coalition has been in touch with the Milwaukee District Attorney since the incident. This afternoon the DA's office was able to to share that a suspect is in custody and will be charged with a homicide crime. Thus far, the DA's office has no evidence of any bias motivation and is treating the circumstances of the crime as an armed robbery. Charging documents will be made available when they are filed. The Sikh Coalition will continue to stay engaged with the DA's office and local officials. We will provide updates as more information is made available. As always the Sikh Coalition urges Sikhs to practice their faith fearlessly and urges all people to stand up for their rights. |
